HOW TO USE AEGIS

a short guide for new users

AEGIS is a family safety app: a family map, SOS alerts, trip escort and safe-zone notifications.

1. How do I get started with AEGIS?

Sign in with email or Apple/Google and allow location “Always” and notifications. Then create a family and invite your loved ones by email, or give them the family code — the owner approves the request.

2. How do I send an SOS?

Press and hold the red SOS button in the bottom bar. Your family is notified immediately, sees your location, hears the sound and sees the video. End the alarm with “I’m safe”.

3. What is SafeWalk?

Escort for a trip. Choose who follows you and the route: watchers see you on the map and, with the chosen access, hear the sound and see the camera. The family owner can start SafeWalk for another member — they get a notification.

4. How do the family map and safe zones work?

The map shows where members are, their battery and when they were last online. Add places (home, school) as safe zones — the family is notified when someone enters or leaves a zone. For this the member needs location set to “Always” and the app must not be swiped away from recent apps.

5. What does the safety timer do?

You set a time and check in with “I’m OK”. If you don’t make it, an SOS with location, sound and video is raised automatically. A child sets the timer for themselves; the family owner can start it for another member.

6. What is a sound request?

A member can ask to listen to another member’s surroundings. The other person first sees the request and agrees themselves; while sound is transmitted, an indicator is visible on screen.

7. What are the code word and voice SOS?

The code word is a single Russian word: if you say it during SafeWalk, the app quietly raises an SOS (Profile → Code phrase). On iPhone there is also voice SOS via Siri and Shortcuts, including from the lock screen (Profile → Voice SOS).

8. What roles are there in a family?

The owner manages the family and invites or removes members. A Member is an adult family member. A Child is a restricted profile: no family management, and location cannot be switched off by the child. AEGIS does not replace emergency services — in real danger call 112.
